I hope
...he was just acclimatising to the frost and faster pace of the Premier, 'cause he looked like a bloke who'd watched a few games on the telly and thought "alright, I can do that". Aston Villa breezed through him at will, he appeared lost for pace, position and unaware that the round leather thing is supposed to be kicked away from ones goal. Please tell me it was beginners nerves or he's coming down with the flu.
did I imagine it ...
or was Tommy Smith sent on to play left wing-back to help him out ? If so, OMG ( to quote my daughter) . From what i saw, he couldn't trap a bag, his idea of positional play was running around like a toddler playing piggy in the middle against much older and taller kids. He looked eager, but mainly in the fashion of that Caroline Tate character who volunteers for everything claiming she's highly experienced at whatever it is needs doing, then turns out never to have done it before in her life.

how rubbish was he last night - he made paul bruce look like roberto carlos and there was me thinking he's be the pick of the bunch.
impressed with cisse,he was a class above the rest.
