premier league in fluxus

Especially in London: Arsenal, same manager but rebuilding. Spuds: AVB new boss. Scum: new players and relatively new boss. Fulham: best players escaping. West Ham: new season in Prem

Outside of the capital: WBA, Villa, Liverpool, Swansea, and Norwich have all got new managers. I guess it's like this at the beginning of every prem season but I haven't really bothered about it before seeing as we've been in the leagues below for so long.

The only settled teams seem to be the Manchesters ... City could run away with. United will be useful with RVP but as a group they're ageing. As for the Geordies, they'll either get found out or get distracted with the Europa Laeague or both.

I think this season will all be about which squads gel the quickest. If Sparky can get the boys playing as a team as soon as ..  I think we could finish very high up the league; either us or Everton could be this season's Newcastlesque surprise package.

Gotta hit the ground running and not let up till May ...

COME ON U Rs!!!!!!!!!!!!

I make you right Andinsiary..

..I had the very same feeling contemplating the arrival of Bosingwa and Mbia earlier today - I think we might very well be the dark horses of the Premiership this season and a top 10 finish, or even higher, is certainly not beyond us, especially given the scenario you cite.

glad we agree on something

Not only are many teams in limbo, the fixtures computer has been kinder to us than others. Most teams have a nasty start, nasty finish, big block of nasty games or all three. We get three of the big away trips done early and our run in doesn't look anywhere near as bad as last time plus we have a bank of five or six winnable games immediately before. Get a good start and anything could happen.

But why do I agree with Sav?  Aston Villa for the drop.

We'll be getting Samba in the January window, when the Russian season is over.

With the squad we've built, and the turmoil of other teams I'll be disappointed if we don't finish above the following (in no particular order I hasten to add)

Wigan, Reading, West Ham, Southampton, Norwich, Swansea, Aston Villa, and Fulham.

All those teams I feel are there for the taking, and should be fighting for the bottom 3 places
