Never a dull day with England

Dull matches, yes, but the other stuff? Cahill out with a double jaw fracture. Ye gods, he took that like a pro! Put him in the ring! So now he's gone, they bring in Kelly. The right back. With only one cap. For a starting centre back.

i) Roy Hodgson has now picked 6 Liverpool players for the 23. Liverpool must be brilliant with that many England players.
ii) Would Rio have got the nod if Terry had been injured?
iii) Would we have stopped laughing yet if it had been Terry not Cahill that broke his jaw in two places? Be fair, we could have re-used the bunting.

Also, I really want to like Scott Parker as an England player but just can't. What am I doing wrong?

At least in a few weeks

the Liverpool players will at last know what it feels like to finish fourth. And I don't mean get to the semi-finals.

I know what you mean..

..about Parker. Well, actually I don't know what you mean, as I'm not trying to like him. I think he's a liability.

Real shame about Cahill. That player that pushed him, what a cunt. What an utterly stupid thing to do.

In regard to Rio - bizarre. Nevertheless, I think Lescott will fill Cahill's place admirably.

The more I think about it

The more I feel like I'm missing something with Parker. I thought he was lousy the other day: the commentators had him as a man-of-the-match contender. What is it they see in him? Same goes for Milner up to a point. Not being funny but Milner is just Mackie without the charisma.

spot on..

..both times; I too was mystified by Parker's MOTM contention; he's just so... average. And what does Milner offer really? Mackie without charisma is a beautiful description, but add passion to that, and attacking flair. Wonder if he'd chosen England as his home team whether he'd have got a look-in? Add Downing, Kelly and Jagielka to the list and you have some distinctly average players in the squad. Welbeck and young look good up front though..

With you there

When Young is given the opportunity to drift he looks brilliant. If England go 4-2-3-1 (assuming Carrol up top) I think Young would get pushed wide in favour of Gerrard in the hole. But I can see that working if the other wide man is prepared to attack his full-back more consistently allowing Young to come inside. However, if Woy opts for the 4-4-1-1 option then Welbeck and Young for me every time. Wellbeck took his goal like he had all the time in the world - a really cool customer.

Mackie without the charisma.....

Fecking classic !!  as Hud says "its a beautiful description", it really is, sort of something Mr, Joyce might say.   Charisma is a sparkle in people that money can't buy...It's an invisible energy with visible effects.

Never a dull day with England II
