And Villa were in he second division then.
If Bos means the first time we ever played a top flight team, then I'd say it's Man Utd in the FA Charity Shield 1908. Or in the FA Cup, Bradford City in 1912.

it was a half-finished South Africa Road stand, not Ellerslie Road stand. Just known as "The" stand in those days, being the only one until SAR.
PS. I've spent my entire life wondering why they were called stands, when they were the only ones with seats in.

I have my petrol ration coupons from 1973. Looked like they were left over from 1957. Or possibly 1939-50.
