.. he's another signing with solid Premiership experience. As Hughes said, this is an area in which we were lacking at times last season and needs to be addressed. At minimum he's on a par with Paddy but he's certainly not a backward step and he's a good few years younger too. I think he'll also grow in confidence having a better standard of defender in front of him than he's been used to in recent years.
And at least we finally have an England keeper between the sticks again. Good omen? Possibly.

I think it’s a decent signing, the point I was trying to make Hud was Paddy was the best keeper in the championship as well but the Prem is a different beast.
For a club of our status and size it’s a good bit of business but I don’t think Green is streets ahead of Kenny ability wise.

Agree he's probably not streets ahead of Kenny, but he probably is just that little bit better. Maybe enough to just make a little bit of a difference.
Can't see Paddy sticking around now though, Colin will definitely be calling.

..and agree with what sixties says, except that that 'just a little bit better' might actually make a really big difference. With someone of stature behind the sticks and a solid back four we could become very hard to beat. Stir in the sparkling talents of Diakite (god willing we sign him), Taarabt and Faurlin, the attacking potency of Cisse and Johnson and the lion-hearted will of Jamie Mackie, and we might actually do something this season. I'm quietly excited.
