Euro Predictions?

7 June, 2012 - 12:30

So many quality teams, who to choose from?

I think Russia could do well, almost on home soil, and looking at the route to the final, there's a chance they could go all the way. Spain are obvious favourites and rightly so. Who could surprise us? I think France will do well (is that surprise?), and possibly Poland or Ukraine as they are at home... I think England might well go out in the group stages. Group B is the real 'group of death' - Denmark, Holland, Portugal, Germany - closely followed by Group C - Croatia, Italy, Ireland, Spain. England's group is probably the easiest - with Ukraine, Sweden and France, but we could easily fuck it up. If we do scrape through, Spain or possibly Italy beckon... We could beat Italy, who are possibly even more disorganised than us, with the betting scandal and other discontent, meaning we could get to the semis... but does anyone think we will?

..what does this mean: Euro 2012 Win Market - 4 Places Betting Odds?

Is that the same as an each-way bet? I'd like to have an each-way bet on Russia...

It means...

I don't think England will

I don't think England will ever score a goal.

Italy for me,  and that has nothing to do with my love of Pizza's either.

England not to score

7 June, 2012 - 13:42

is 25-1 .. I'm putting money on that.

Ireland to win + Mrs Kevin Doyle to be  top scorer is 2500-1 .. gotta be worth a punt/ pound/ euro

John Terry to leave the tournment early and stand in a local election for Svoboda, Ukraine's far-right party is 7-2

Germany for me...

Spain have had their day in the sun, as proved with signs this season that the current Real and Barca teams are beginning to unravel. Germany took England apart two years ago and they've only got better since.

The usual pundits are tipping France and Italy as outsiders, citing "new look" teams after both have looked shocking in recent years.

Portugal struggled to qualify and will struggle again in that group. No doubt Holland will be close by to pick up their annual runner-up medals and England not to score at 25-1 is not a bad shout!

And there is always a "shock" team which progresses to the last four....I'm just hoping it's Ireland!

Holland to beat Spain in the final (at 25/1) if Robin Van Persie continues his rich vein of form, the cup is theirs.  A re-run of the last World Cup final, but this time the loss of David Villa's goals to make the difference.  Come on ye orange bastards!!!! Laughing

Russia

Should feel at home when in the Ukraine. They do tend to rock up there occasionally.

I reckon it'll be someone unfancied though, and I don't fancy Russia. Really don't think they've got much, not since their golden days in the early 60's. So it's got to be Ireland.

But with this squad,i just can't see past them winning.Even their second choice for each position could still win this tournament.Pundits go on about them being "tired",or how much they will miss Villa and Puyol, but the players listed above are exceptional, all of them(ok maybe not TorresCool )

Viva Espana.

Also fashionable is to say England's expectations are low ...

8 June, 2012 - 12:14

.. so they will probably do well. But this is creating reverse-expectation-syndrome so people are again expecting England to do well.

That's just what they want us to think

So now we know their plan, we should do the opposite. Unless they were expecting that, in which case we shouldn't.
