If he wants to go, and goes, and does well, it'll be good for us. It's not as though he hasn't had much rest.
On the other hand, if he's injured, or misses our tour to Asia, or has a bad game or two, or knackers himself out...

Sparky'll be able to rotate the strikers early doors to give him some rest if needed so fatigue shouldn't be a big issue.
I'd say the potential benefits outweigh the drawbacks. Say he goes, has a blinding tournament and scores a few goals. He comes back brim full of confidence and happy, we get a striker who is right on his game and ready to roar from the off. A little help from the fixture computer and he could catch a few teams unawares, get us off to a strong start then have a little break mid-September.
Fingers crossed for him, he deserves it.

Hmm .. can't think of another French international natural born goalscorer as useful in front of goal as he is with a bottle of peroxide. Hopefully Les Grenouilles won't get struck down with common sense and pick the player I can't quite bring to mind. But if they did it would be difficult not to cheer for him. Ole! Ole! Ole! Ole! ...
