Buggerit

19 June, 2012 - 09:37

My first time online in two weeks, and to warn that I may not be around much for a few more.

My motorbike and I had a little coming together with someone who decided to do a u-turn on the A316 in Twickenham.

Fortunately, helmet and leathers prevented anything worse than shattered limbs. Less fortunately, the shattering is quite significant in one arm, and isn't going to heal quickly, if at all. All other limbs/ankles/wrists are now titanium enhanced, and I hope to be on my feet again soon.

I'll be online when I can, but this short message took about 2 hours to type on my phone.

Bloody hell BT.  Best of luck with the recovery.

Back in the 80s a friend of my then girlfriend got run down on his bike by a Post Office van.  He got £25k compensation, a not insignificant sum then.  Sadly, instead of buying a flat as he could have done, he discovered smack.

fuck Ben..

19 June, 2012 - 10:47

..massive best wishes and healing to you buddy. Comfrey is ancient, fantastic remedy for healing bones - it had the name 'knit-well' among others. Get someone who knows about these things, a herbalist, to administer a remedy. You should be taking Arnica as well... Sounds like you had one hell of a crash mate, sending you healing vibes x

Really sorry to hear this

There’s Ben, all battered and bruised and in a right old state lying there like the bionic man and you go posting him links from the site he lost all those years ago bringing back the worst memories ever.

Are you deliberately being out of order?

Why don’t you just post up a picture of Eddie fucking Kidd whilst you are at it eh??

That's ......

it really is an amazing plant,i have a load of it growing at one end of the allotment, very prolific and resiliant stuff, bees love the purple flowers, and it also makes a fantastic fertilizer when steeped in water.

Sorry to read that.

Not Chalker's Corner then, that's usually a favourite for RTA/RTCs or whatever they call them now.

Hope all heals well soon.

I'm really sorry to hear this Ben. I lost one of my best friends to a bike addident in similar circumstances 15 years ago last month and while you may not feel especially lucky now I am pleased that you are well enough to be thinking about posting again, even if it is a bit of a struggle currently.

It goes without saying of course, but I obviously wish you a full and speedy recovery chap.

All the best

Dan

just read about your injuries .. damn .. that sounds painful .. hope you get back a functioning as quick as can be expected .. and to add to hubris and arbies useful advice, i know this is a bit old school but cod liver oil is good for broken bones .. someone in the family fell off a window ledge and smashed up her spine .. doctors couldn't believe how quickly she recovered .. she put it down to cod liver oil (and buggering off to a greek island for a month) .. all the best
